If I were a boy ..

Well. This post was inspired by WenJia’s and my chat today when we were going home. We were suddenly so interested in being a guy and what we would do if we were guys. This is my opinion ! 
Overall, I’ll be a guy that is loved by everyone. I’ll make all the girls fall head over heels for me. I’ll make sure I’m well liked by the elders. I’ll be a real talented guy and do well in my career !
1. A nice hairstyle
I’ve always thought that hairstyle is the most important thing about guys. I mean, isn’t that the first thing girls look at when you see a guy? A good hairstyle shows a lot of things about the guy. And what do I mean by a good hairstyle? Not those nerdy kind I guess (purely my opinion). I like guys who have natural spikey hair. As in the hair looks good without wax. A little wax doesn’t hurt though. Your hairstyle determines your entire face ! So it pays off to spend time on your hair !
And me as a guy, I would constantly make sure my hair is in it’s best condition! xD
And somehow, I just love this hairstyle ( biased ? no :X )
2. BRAINS
Isn’t this obvious ? I would make sure I’m achieveing good grades in all my academic area. I think the most important thing I would ensure I’m good at is my languages. Guys that can speak well attract girls more isn’t it ? And I would be able to help others out if they need any. Isn’t that good ?
I would also be able to find a job that can provide a luxury life for wife and kids !
3. Be a GENTLEman
I’ll open doors.I’ll arrive early for all dates.I’ll do all I can to help others.I’ll make sure that all the girls have a seat before I sit down.I’ll take books or whatever the girls are carrying if it’s too heavy.Â
I’ll do anything that is gentlemind like. Make sure that I think about others before me. I’ll be sensitive to everyone’s feelings around. Never go over the limit when teasing girls or friends. Sincerly care. Be honest in whatever I say. If it hurts people, I won’t say it.
4. Play an instrument or have a talent in other areas
Personally, I think guys that play an instrument is really hot. Especially when they are really engrossed in it. And I’ve once read an article that says that music would make oneself have a better temper. Having a talent in an area only makes people feel attracted to you. In my case, I feel that music is the key.Â
So if I’m a guy, I would make sure I can play an instrument. In addition, I’ll make sure I do well in sports too. Imagine, a guy who is musically inclined, good in academics and also physically fit. Sounds simple but rare already yeah ? 
5. Look SMART
My closet would be filled with long sleeves and collar shirts. I make sure I have a good fashion sense. I dress appropriately for all occasions and also not shy away from fashion trends. I think most of the guys are afraid to dress up because they are afraid of people’s point of view. Come on ! Be yourself ! Guys who wear collar shirts and long sleeves look really smart !
So if I’m a guy, I’m gona always look smart.
6. Always have a cute smile
7. Have a nice pair of hands ( No idea why. But it just matters .. )
8. Have a GOOD complexion !
I think lots of guys forego this . IT’s IMPORTANT. At least to me if I’m a guy. I will make sure that I have good skin . I mean not to the extent like girls but at least not that much acne and also no uneven skin tone ! This is important ~
9. Have a great physical build ( Obvious ? LOL )

Well, I think it’ll be really cool if I can be a guy for a day. At least I know how girls feel and I won’t act ungentlemanly which is the case for guys now ! :X I wana make everyone look in my direction when I walk around and also acting oblivious to their stares ( WenJia agrees to this too ). It’s so cool ! PÂ
Gosh. I think I better stop, or I’ll really become a guy soon x.x That’s all to share !
A break ~

Right now I’m taking a break from my homework pile ! Well, what have I done for the past few hours since I’ve woke up ? Economics homework and a little physics. Ahh. My slow speed in doing homework. I would have no choice but to admit that right now. Or should I say I’m too easily distracted ?
Well, I’ve been watching videos off the youtube. Music videos of my favourite songs ! Or should I say songs that I have once or maybe still addicted to ?
Rain – Rainism
I love the first part of the music video. When the water droplets form a human image and then he appears with the wet hair. Gosh. I love his hair here ! Suddenly I realise the korean pop stars are all sporting short hair styles !
Younha – Gossip Boy
I was so addicted to this song when her second album came out. I never knew what the lyrics meant till now ! Yeah. So outdated. But the lyrics made me love this song even further ! Go younha ! Oh. What’s worse. I never knew how she really looked like. I loved her songs and didn’t bother to check her up in the website. Was shocked when I realise she was this cute. I mean I expected a more boyish girl to match with her dynamic voice. But still, I love her voice.
Younha – Since You’ve been gone
I would have to say I’m impressed by her english pronunciation. Most of the time I have no idea what the korean singers are singing when they are singing english songs. And I loved her “My song and .. ” in her second album. This song further shows her voice ! (: I’m loving her more every second !

I love this song too. Just knew the lyrics of this song too >< As in what it meant. What fascinates me is that even with such a cute look she still walked a different road unlike the typical cute korean girl groups like SNSD or the new KARA. I like her rock style ! Rock on Younha !
Boa- Eat you up
I love the effects here. And her dancing is so good now! Though I don’t really like the song when I first heard it, it kind of gets into me. Well, still love her though (:
KARA – Break it
This is an old song. But I love it to bits. And the dancing too. I loved the old Kara before there were adjustments of the members inside. It’s not like I detest the new KARA. It’s just that I love the rock concept the old one had compared to the cutesy one now.
Oh. And I just realised there’s so much things I want right now !
1. Whitening masks (Hey. I’ve been looking for them for so long ! Suddenly I feel that girls look nicer when they are fair or maybe it’s the influence of too much korean drama ? It seems like the guys are even fairer than me ! NOO ~)
2. Sweatshirts (Ever since I spotted that cartoon sweatshirt in Boys Over Flowers, I couldn’t stop thinking about it ! And I think that dance is getting a black and lime green sweatshirt which is HURRAY ! Can’t wait for it !)
3. Light colour shorts- Grey or blue ( Ahh. I’ve been wanting them for so long but my fat thighs need to lose some weight ! Till then ~ )
4. Long shirts ( I’m so gona go to Tampanies mall . I remember I grabbed a sweater off the shelves during the japan trip in UniGlo and I was quite sad because I wanted to buy a lot of clothes there but I didn’t bring enough money. So happy that it has opened in TP mall ! Gona go there soon ! )
5. Cut my fringe ( I’m gona cut my fringe again. Cut it till it’s like .. How do I describe it . Where you can’t really see the parting. Gosh. I wanted it for such a long time. And I was chatting with Jas about this till I realised that girls are better off because we can cut korean guys hairstyles. Even those that are short. The thing about their hairstyles is that they have long fringe and that’s what guys can’t have in Singapore if they are studying ! Girls can do it too ! But doing off with my long hair .. I’ll think about it . LOL )
Yeah . That’s all. Long term events huh .
Asia Song Festival 2008

I came across this concert when I was surfing around youtube, watching U-Kiss performances. Why did I suddenly search for them ? Because I realised that Hyung Joong’s younger brother is inside and they look so alike ! And I realised that Kevin from Xing is also inside. They just debuted last year and have already gain a lot of recognition for being an international group. They come from different countries and can speak English, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and many more. Cool yeah (: Look out for them.Â
Anyways, back to the concert I was saying. Asia Festival 2008. Yeah. I’m a little outdate but it’s kinda facinating for me to see so many Asia stars on the same stage. And the point is I know most of them ! Cool yeah !
The ones that I really loved was SS501 (whoo ~ hyun jung ~ kyujung !! ) , DBSK (sorry oppa ~! I love you guys still xPP ) , Agnes Monica, Tsuchiya Anna, Ice and Shin Seung Hoon. Seriously, I still feel that dbsk is still the best. No one can beat their vocals and dancing skills. Ahh ! But I still like ss501 though :X I was SO singing along to the songs dbsk performed. I think I know all of their songs ~ ><” Enjoy the videos below like I did ~ (I can’t find the subbed one. Which was really sad >< I can’t understand Korean too ): ) Shake it, shake it off ~

Well, once again. It’s gona be a long post (: Don’t you just love them? Heh . Perhaps I shouldn’t be typing this at all because I haven’t done my homework yet which is a huge pile of it. Exhausted. Just want to lie on bed and sleep forever. Gosh. Okay. Enough crap. Time to start the post or it’ll drag on even later.
Let’s start with yesterday shall we? I was really excited and nervous because SYF is today. It’s my first time experience for dance SYF competition because in the past 2 involvement were both chorale. So now, it’s a completely different feeling. I mean it’ll be really obvious if we’re wrong. Dancing is easy but difficult to be expressed well.
Yesterday’s dinner was at Subway! It was really hilarious. It has been long since I had laughed so much. The source of the laughter was mainly Jermyn, my dance junior. Or should I say it was totally him? The first stroke of laughter started with ordering. It turned out Kuan Wai and Jermyn have never ordered before because it was their friends who always help them. Oh wait. The first one was when we were trying to decide on a place to have dinner. Jermyn was suggesting expensive places just because of his male ego. It was so funny. Especially when he was carrying WenJia’s bag. I mean it’s obvious that it’s really heavy but he made it through and acted like it was really light. LOL.
Well well. And I made a couple of mistakes on my chinese language Guess I should take time to polish it up huh. Arriving in Subway should be one of the best choice ever like I’ve mentioned. Laughing so much really did help me destress a lot. There were a lot of lame jokes spoken of. Some are really ! ><” I think the best part about our 4 hour conversation was “The Saw” part where Jermyn was trying to imitate a sadist person trying to saw his arm off. It was just so hilarious with that look of his. Talked about happy tree friends and all. Surprsied that Kuan Wai has NEVER watched it before. She heard that it was gross so she didn’t want to watch it. Innocent !
And there was this part where Jermyn was trying to imitate Kuan Wai’s actions except it’s in an overly exaggerated way. LOL. Rolling of eyeballs. And somehow it led to eyeball exercises. So hilarious. Oh. And we met Jolene, Joyce and Karmen(not sure of spelling). Jolene said something wrong and stabbed Jermyn. LOL . He was so affected by it. Because Jolene mistook him for Ideal(Wait. How is it spelled ? Oh whatever ) . He was there repeating that ” I’m not a malay. I’m NOT IDEAL ~~ x100″ We were busy laughing our heads off. Jolene continued on grumbling about what Joyce did and betrayed her. It was so hilarious.
Okay. Enough . Shall move on to SYF day shall we ?

After that we board the bus and proceeded to UCC ! Really nervous and we got a glimpse of the dance items before us. They are really good. Even though they made mistakes, their expressions didn’t waver at all. When it was our part, my heart was going to fall out. All I had in my mind was ” do my best”. Well, everything ended. It’s all over despite the mistakes we’ve made.
Waited for one whole hour for results. For the time being, we continued to take pictures. All of them are in Mdm Ang’s camera. Haven’t got them yet though.Â
The dialogue session was quite fruitful in some sense. We learnt how they judge our dance items. And realised that dance techniques don’t really matter. It’s the whole feel of it. The ability to be able to communicate with the audience with our body language. Dance isn’t as easy as it seems. And all the lighting, song chosen and even the title plays a huge part in the score.Â
While we waited, we held our hands tightly. The announcement of a silver medal was disappointing. I myself predicted or should I say already expected that because we were still quite messy. And for a big part of the dance, we weren’t really into the dance yet. So it’s quite sad for that. At least we did our best and got a silver medal for the first time participation in the international dance category. Be satisfied with what we have and work towards a better tomorrow shall we ?
There were lots of tears on the bus trip back. The JC2s were really sad except for WenJia and me. I can’t say that we weren’t sad but it’s like, it’s already over and we did our best. So there’s not much to regret about is there? We had a wonderful experience of working hard together as a team towards this event. So even though we didn’t get what we want, we enjoyed the process throughout (: That’s what that matters.Â
We started removing our make up. Our teacher passed around baby wipes . Jermyn and Janice demostrated to us what does lightning speed removing make up mean. All they used were 2 baby wipes and off were their makeup. It’s insane. I used like 14 ? At first I didn’t want to use it. The KuanWai said ” The baby butt is just like an adult’s face” . LOL . Well true. The baby skin is so good that even their butt is equivelant to our faces. And we don’t even have such good skin. Do you see acne on their butts? NO !
When we reached the studio, I tried to brighten up the mood by taking photos. I started the ball rolling by doing them myself. KuanWai supported me (:

After that, the juniors(guys) , Jasmine, WenJia, Kuan Wai and me went for dinner at the coffee shop nearby. We played truth or dare. Found out a lot of things about everyone. Hilarious. Oh yeah. We got crazy and started spreading messages around. It was so funny. A fun night indeed. I’m sure everyone had fun. Sad that it’s time to part already because seniors don’t have to go for dance anymore. And it’s time for us to focus on our studies. It’s really bad . LOL .
Okay. Next. Today went to consult the doctor. So didn’t go to school. Slept throughout the afternoon and read the book Real World by Natsuo Kirino.
A different experience indeed. I’ve never read book like this. It completely shows the similiarites and differences of teenagers. It’s like how different they are on the outside and the inside. Yet they have the same desire to be who they are. It’s not that kind of a romance story if you’re looking for one. Nor is it a thriller that involves all kind of fighting scenes. Nope. None of that. Instead, it’s more down to earth, realistic. The book made me realise how similar humans are and how fragile we actually are.
In order to survive, we rely on everyone around and yet we never do disclose who we actually are on the inside. Not because we are unfriendly, instead it’s fear that drove us to become like this. Fear of interjection. It made me think of many simple yet compelling questions. Is there really no more truth in the world anymore? Can’t we reveal who we really are anymore? Why should we hide behind the shadows and conform ourselves?
The world has changed and we humans can only keep on adapting to it. We changed the world and in the end, we changed ourselves. It’s a never ending cycle and there is no winner in the end. It’s either you adapt or you fall behind. That’s the blunt truth of reality. Face it guys .
A dream come true – Phase 1 : A coincidence

I suddenly started typing this story for no reason and somehow it started getting longer. I guess I would continue to have fun typing this make up story (:
Phase 1: A coincidence
“Hey. Stop kidding around!” I heard my flustered voice over the phone. For real?
It all started with that childish phone call that summer evening. I’ve always loved night time as compared with daytime during summer. I hated how the scorching heat affects my soft skin. Ever since my parents divorced when I was 12, I’ve always been self conscious, whether it was academically or appearance wise. I started to get sensitive to how others around view me through their narrow minded brains.Â
No one in this world really understands me I guess. They would never understand the ups and downs I’ve been through. Ever since, I’ve always had this wall around me. I’m just a mere teenager. I’m afraid deep inside. Never was I the strong person that everyone view me as. But I’ve never told anyone around before, afraid that they may view me in a different light.Â
In school, I am a real popular girl (Not like I want to brag about it). But perhaps my constant checks on my appearance and academics have made people have the impression that I’m those perfect girls out there you rarely see nowadays, except for that fact that none of it is true. Girls who want use me to stand out of the crowd keeps hanging around me like a moth to a flame. Irritating sometimes, but I do not blame them. This world has changed. If you’re not the same as the others, then you’re an outcast. Guys try to hook me up with those smiles they think are attractive. To me, they are just living in a world of their own. As a matter of fact, I could see through those fake flirty smiles in a second. All they want is to show off to their friends once they’ve got me under their thumb. Get smarter please.
I don’t hate people around. It’s just that sometimes I wish they would just leave me alone. And you wonder how did I survive in this world? I’ve found a friend. A real friend. Not those superficial ones who act like they know me inside out. And sometimes it makes me laugh that they don’t even know that I’m only living with my mum right now.
My mum’s a shopaholic. Perhaps that’s the sole reason why dad left her. He couldn’t stand the bill that comes every month. Mum just keeps on buying stuff that she never needs. Shoes, bags and cosmetics. It’s not like she needs them anyway. She doesn’t even go out with her friends at all. She spends tonnes of dad’s money doing online shopping everyday. And the goods just accumulates endlessly. And why didn’t I choose to live with my dad? My mum somehow got the custody over me despite being jobless. She has millions in her bank account and I wonder where she even got that. She claimed that it was left behind from her parents but she’d never breathed a word about it.Â
Dad’s living in Switzerland right now. Because of his work, he has to transfer there. Every month he would fly back and come visit me to hang out. He’s really not that kind of average dad. Somehow, he’s not really a parent but more of a friend. We exchange mail every now and then. I’m just like him I guess. How we love to go to theme parks and all. Absolutely not that kind of dad my friends are complaining about theirs. Sometimes, I wish that dad would just bring me over to live with him in Switzerland but I don’t want to bring him more trouble. So I’ll wait till I grow up and have a choice of my own. Till then, I’ll put up with what I have.
Going back to the topic, my friend Jasper is a real nice person. Rumors have been spreading that we’re together for ages but we don’t really care. It’s probably because he’s also not a low profile kind of person. In fact, he’s the captain of the basketball team. Many girls drool over him and stuff letters into his locker. I’ve always thought he was exaggerating till I saw those overflowing white and pink envelops spilling on the floor once he open his locker.
Just like me, he has a perfect score for all his tests which makes him more of a popular guy. His friends that he hangs out with are far from him. To me, they are just hanging out with him because of his fame. But he never cares and shrugs it off with a smile whenever we talk about that topic.
How we met? I still remember that day vividly. Somehow my favourite hang out area in school turned out to be his as well. Every time I have a break, I would escape from my girlfriends and take a breather in the school’s rooftop where people rarely go to. That time I was still only a high school freshman. I was lying on the floor with my eyes closed, taking in the warm sunlight hitting on my face when I got a shock of my life. When I opened my eyes, I saw this unfamiliar face over mine.Â
