I’m a little drowsy right now. Woke up at 8am, had a slice of chocolate bread, took a nice cooling shower and went out. When I reached, Jas and Kq was already there. We woke around trying to get the “perfect” cake for CheeWee since he has sore throat. We finally shrugged the idea of a chiffon pandan cake off when YinXiu objected to it. After that, we walked around Northpoint with the intention of getting a cap as CheeWee’s going into NS soon. Finally chose a black/grey checkered cap in Power 9 after intense discussion with Kq being the sacrifice.
Took 800 to CheeWee’s flat. It’s been so long since I’ve seen AI and the colours seriously disturbed me. I still fancy the different shades of green we had for the roofs, wallpaper and fences. Right now, they’ve taken up bright striking colours of namely orange and red.
While Jas waited for Cheewee to take the lift down, the rest of us waited at a void deck table which we realised is a rare sight around that area. There wasn’t any in his block so we had to walk to the other block instead. I have to say its rather hilarious because they are using the same trick and its the same day, Saturday. I wonder if CheeWee even suspected anything. Another thing was that we couldn’t light up the candle because of the random gusts of wind every now and then. In the end, he had to light the candle himself and blow it out. Kind of ironic but it worked out fine
CheeWee, wearing the gift that we have chosen.
Surprisingly, it turned out fine and pardon me for the wrong angle of this picture. I’m too lazy to rotate it. Do me a favor and tilt your head to the left to view the photo.
He then indulged in this breakfast that was made by Jas which is filled with happiness, love and effort (as quoted by YX) while the rest of us played Bridge, Cheat and Big 2.
Oh, except for the fries of course. We got it from Macs but it was a bad idea because we just remembered that he had sore throat after we got on the bus. And no doubt being him, a salt maniac, he finished the soggy fries and also the sandwich
Took some pictures with a self timer on (:
Personally, I feel that the last photo was the best because it was the most candid. And the rest, especially the one in a row was kind of funny as if it was for some graduation purpose. Oh, if you were wondering if there was some trend, yeah. We decided to all wear caps as a theme kind of thing. Kq ain’t wearing any because he’s borrowing from ZhengRui which would arrive only after his work.
Cheat this time, was weirdly a long game. Plus, bridge is seriously getting addictive after RenZhi and ZhengRui taught me the other time when we were celebrating Jas’s birthday.
After that we met ZhengRui at Yishun Mrt. Took a shuttle bus to SSC and had our lunch at Astons as approximately 3pm, the latest lunch I’ve ever had. While waiting, we chat a little and we found out that this year, there were lesser people who retained and more people who were kicked out. 12’s a scary number. And this time round, they were even allowed to take 3 supp papers. Weird. I doubt they would even make it though.
We literally attacked the food when it arrived because we were all starved! Somehow, the waitress/er or the cook got mixed up with the orders and gave Kq fish instead of chicken. But we all agreed that he gained on his part as fish is more expensive. We started to come up with funny ideas like asking the waiter or waitress to change it when it’s already three quarters eaten. ZhengRui then came up with another scenario then brought up more laughters.
Kq: Is this fish or chicken?
Waiter: Oh. It’s fish. I’m sorry.
Kq: WHAT? (with eyes open) I’m allergic to fish.
LOL. It was quite funny actually at that point of time and now too. I’m grinning while typing this. After eating, I realised why the queue in Astons is always soooooooo long! The food is nice and the price is reasonable. No wonder everyone kept saying that they want to eat there again and again.
After that we went to the “Splash Pool” or Park. I can’t remember. It was the first time I saw such a park though its already built for ages for places such as Vivo. Heard that there’s another one coming up at Northpoint’s top level. Out of all of us, only ZhengRui and I haven’t been to Wild Wild Wet before which is I admit, a -_- thing to confess. I mean its been built for so long already! But the others assured us that it’s not as fun as it seems on the surface.
Ah, and ZhengRui with his crazy ideas as usual, wore his sunglasses and cap and wanted to approach the kids. He felt that the kids would praise him of being “shuai”. I dampened his mood by saying that the kids would feel that he’s blind instead. Then we went to play with that “pressure” …. well. I have no idea how to describe that. Hope over to Jas’s blog to understand what I’m trying to say.
After that I went to Subway to get the cookies that my brother wanted and walked home. The others went to Daiso.
Well, it’s fun hanging out with them and nothing beats the experience of knowing more friends (: Too bad this time RenZhi couldn’t join us because he was sick!
Lastly,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHEEWEE!
or should I say strawberry? LOL *inside joke*
Didn’t manage to study again today x.x I’m a goner for Physics Paper 1 on Monday. AHHH! I need a BREAK!
Well, thats not the main story of today’s post but somehow I just have the urge to type that out first! Finally left with 2 papers! After the paper, I immediately tweeted this phrase:
Blood spilled during the 2 hours long intense war. 1 wounded.
It’s easy to infer from this. Physics Paper 3 wasn’t manageable for me though many thought that it was okay. Especially the 2nd section, I had no idea which 2 to choose from the 3 because all of them seem hostile. Had to pick eventually and just chose 5 and 6 as 7 was totally out of the question. Electricity has never been my forte. Besides the definitions questions at the start, I couldn’t answer much of the others.
When the paper ended and we were lamenting about the paper, WeiQin and Jolene were shocked that I chose question 6 which wasn’t an easy question. All were difficult for me I guess. Just had to choose the one that wouldn’t make my end too pathetic.
After the paper, WeiQin and I walked to Northpoint, amused at the drawn shutters for almost all of the shops. It’s only half past TEN. The only outlets that were open were food and beverages. We checked out the Korean snack shop for once which we always walk pass without even giving a little bit of our attention to. Got myself a Tornado Potato which proved to be a disaster for my teeth for it was really “CRUNCHY”. It was too hard for goodness sake though it tasted fine. WeiQin bought a … potato something too. Can’t really remember the name but it tasted fine (: Should have bought the rice cakes! I’ve not tasted Korean rice cakes before! I’m such a noob!
Anyways, after filling our empty stomach, we walked around in search for my pastel colour nail polishes! Glad that I finally found them at the Sun Plaza SaSa outlet. Then I bade goodbye to WeiQin who left first and went to find my mum. Mum finally agreed to get the two tubs of Ben & Jerry’s icecream after being appealed to the offer given and my dissatisfied face. So I’ve got a Smore and One Brownie Cheesecake. Haven’t tasted them yet but will later (:
When I reached home, I indulged in my new polishes and got myself into a mess. It didn’t work out for the first time for it got all gooey. Tried several times and finally got the trick of applying it into a smooth shiny layer. Wasted much layers of base coats but it was worth the fun.
I’ve also watched all the IRIS episodes that I’ve missed out for the last and this month. Got to episode 7 and was rewarded by glimpses of TOP with that absolutely hot character that suited his hot looks (: Oh, did I mention that Ling Lan finally fell to TOP’s charisma? And in the morning Jolene and I were arguing over who was better. Minho from Shinee or TOP from Big Bang. Of course it would be TOP, isn’t it? (: I love his wispy hair which I totally hated when I saw the pictures a few months ago where they got some sneak peeks at the much awaited drama, IRIS.
Okay. Time to go off. Haven’t studied AT ALL today. I need some break seriously! Meeting WenJia in the afternoon tomorrow to find a job! Hope I’ll get a job I desire (: If anyone have any job offers or anything, TELL ME! Thanks!
Yesterday went to sleep at 3am after watching a documentary about the world ending in 2012 and “Fu Qi You An Kang”. After watching the documentary, I finally understand why everyone is making this maya calendar a big deal. So it seems that they have predicted details of many large events accurately before. Also, there are many other tribes which have predicted that 2012 is a year where there would be many crisis. Experts say that all these tragic events that are happening are not a coincidence but actually are bits to a bigger puzzle. My take on this: If it ends, we shall all perish together then. If not, thank God and live life as normal.
Well, I woke up at 9am, took a shower and prepared to go to Singapore Expo for 2 purposes. The food fest and the MPH Warehouse Sale. The food fest was much better than last year and had nicer food than before. My mum and aunt bought back bags and bags of food. My brother and I on the other hand brought back a carton of, BOOKS! It was such a great deal. Books were going at 80% discount. A price of a book came to the low price of $20 for 5. Can you believe it? That’s 4 dollars each! Some were going at $8 for one. But thats still too cheap. It was crazy. There were many people like me sweeping through the aisles finding books that we want.
Our harvest consisted of 16 books (: One city guide, Seoul. Bought it because I’m going Korea next year. Better do some homework and learn the basics. The others were my brother and my favourite, fantasy, adventure plus a tint of romance.
If anyone have the book “Witch” and “Midnight never come” by Marie Brennam , please tell me! And Pilgrim by “Sara Douglass”. Oh and Magician’s Guild series, first and third book. TELLLL MEEEEE! D
Going to start reading it after A’s. I can’t wait. AHH! If I flip the first page, I’m a goner.
Oh well, didn’t study the entire day yesterday. What a slacker =l Tried to study today but couldn’t really focus -.-
Totally LOVE Genie Zhuo :X She’s so pretty ~ And I’m loving this song to bits!
Yawn. I’m so tired though I didn’t study at all today
Went out early in the morning to meet Mindy, YuanXi and Joyce. Sang for 8 whole hours at BUGIS. Basically, we went in despite the stench of cigarettes. The touchscreen was addictive. In the end nearly 10 pages were my songs :X And I realised that all the songs I know, they have never heard it before -.- All the songs they have heard before are those that are played on radio or hits. Well, I always listen to songs in the entire album that is released ><” Joyce came around 3pm and we sang more english songs! Also sang SNSD’s GEE P Oh and Maria! It’s so fun there because of the wide range of songs!
Anyways, I had hotplate for dinner today! (: Yummy!
AND I WANA PRE-ORDER HTC HD2! T_T No idea what’s the price though. It’s gona be released in Singapore early December around 1st to 5th dec. Can pre-order at the Singtel website here. I wish I can ask my dad to get permission to have the phone. It doesn’t matter if I pay for it! I’ll save!! T_T I WANT THE PHONE. AHHH!
My morning started off with the aroma of banana muffins. Usually, it would definitely brighten up my morning, but not this time. It didn’t untie that knot in my stomach. Nothing can actually, given that today marked the first paper of my most dreaded subject, Physics. It’s not like I detest the subject, it’s just that even a little, teeny weeny bit of hate would develop if you are failing every paper there is when its in any way related to it. The concepts and calculations totally put me off. I guess I’m still better off as someone who wants to know the theory, as general knowledge. Not as something that I would want to do for the rest of my life.
Anyways, I kept repeating encouraging words to myself before the paper started, heeding the advice given by Mr Phang. He told us to not harp on questions that we can’t do, instead move on and come back later. More importantly, do not be negative. Time makes a lot of difference for someone who gets E and A during an exam. Never tell yourself that you are going to die when you see a question that you do not know.
I kept telling myself I could do it for I’ve really studied a lot this time round. Furthermore, I strongly believe that by starting off fine, it’ll help to boost your confidence and makes the other questions easy. So yeah, I did just that and it seemed that the questions weren’t so difficult after all. Unexpectedly, I could do them except for some parts here and there of course. That was surprisingly, for someone who have only passed Physics once, which is during block test this year. After that, it just followed the trend of a demand curve – downwards sloping.
Anyways, I came out of the examination hall quite relieved though I highly doubt I would do very well for everyone could do it too -.- Okay, never mind. At least I would pass right? But on the other hand, who would aim for a pass in A’s? Dilemma.
Papers and more papers, there are four left now, with one tomorrow. Economics. I haven’t really studied much for it. Feeling rather guilty but will do my best. It’s after all one of the papers which I can do compared to the others which only have a mere chance of passing. Got home a little wet because of the heavy rain.
Mum told me a piece of good news which is our Korea trip most probably wouldn’t be cancelled! And the other point was we have to get our flu vaccines! Korea and Japan are especially heavily hit by it as they are approaching winter right now. So yeah, not something that I’m afraid of since I’m not afraid of needles. Blood test maybe? I still haven’t got that yet but it seems scary. Different from injections for you’re now withdrawing fluids from your body.
Oh, and Jas just told me how screwed my blog looked using Internet Explorer. I couldn’t believe it. I thought I changed my blogskin without myself knowing. LOL. For those who aren’t using IE, this is how it looks like:
*Somehow can’t upload it. Insert it next time*
But there’s a popup which says, you’re using a buggy browser. Please use another browser or upgrade to version 8. It was quite hilarious to me. I mean IE was saying that its browser is buggy which is .. yeah. You get it. LOL.
By the way, did I say that I’ve updated my IPod Touch OS finally? It’s kind of difficult to keep track when I’ve already said it with twitter. I think next time, read my twitter too Back to the story, it sucks whenever you want to install an application and it says that it requires the latest version. I finally decided to pay that 5 dollars and get mine upgraded.
Time to study! Bye people! Good luck for economics tomorrow!
