One word to describe. Rocked!
It was so good! The atmosphere got even hotter as time passed. All the hours spent waiting was so worth it just to get a glimpse (okay, more than that) of our favourite Korean pop groups and of course, getting exposed to the Korean culture!
My brother and I took the train down to Dhoby Ghaut mrt station around 12 plus and we were all filled with anxiety when we saw the comment posted on Facebook. One of those who were already queuing at Fort Canning Park said that there were already 300 people there. When we finally met up with Joyce, it was already past 1pm. We started to get really nervous that we might not get a good seat in the concert and hurried there after all the hiccups. We reached there around 2pm and gosh, there were SO MANY people! We could see everyone sitting on their mats. Some were playing poker cards, walking around but all of them shared a common thing, we can’t wait for the concert to start!
We met up with my brother’s friend, Lawrence. After that the crew got us to move to the pavement because it was safer there. Then we started to spend away the 3 and half hours of time before the concert starts. Thanks to my brother’s friend, we got some entertainment from his IPod Touch. Being a SNSD fan, it was loaded with videos ranging from music videos to television shows. We started to watch Family Outing. Gosh, it never fails to entertain me. I’ve missed out some episodes so yeah, will watch them soon. Been clearing 2 episodes on a daily basis already (:

Oh, and I got to see the LG Chocolate phone advertised by SNSD finally. It was sleek but a little too long for my tastes. But well, I guess I saw the point in why it had to be so long because to put SNSD as your wallpaper, it takes more than the normal screen to fit 9 girls in nicely.
Time withered away while we were watching Family Outing. We even got this “tv stand” made by using a KFC cup and a plastic spoon. Where does the IPod Touch come in? Just let the IPod Touch lean on the spoon and tadah! You got it. If only we’ve thought of this idea earlier then Joyce and I wouldn’t have to suffer from the aches we get after holding it for long periods of time so that all of us can watch the show at ease.
Kind of ransacked Joyce’s bag and found this panda voodoo doll which was pretty cute but something felt not right about it. I still can’t figure out why.

The “other” face that Joyce claims this panda has -.-
I was pretty glad that I wasn’t the only crazy Korean fan out there! Lawrence could sing all the songs that were played by the group of people behind us. And too, I could recognize all of them! Also, there were people watching Family Outing like me! Most of the people have never even heard it before! How could you be a Korea fan when you haven’t watched that? LOL. It’s a great show filled with laughter, perfect when you need to de-stress! But of course I wasn’t up to his level at all, he memorized all the lyrics already so he could sing to them to heart. That was cool.
When the doors finally opened, we started to move forward every short interval. All the screams and excited yells put us in curiosity because we couldn’t see the stage at all! In the end we found out that they were just playing the songs of the celebrities that we know and hence the excited screams! When we finally got in, we were shocked that we manage to get a good view of the stage!

There was this group of Ft fans that wore black jerseys with FT painted in yellow paint on it. It was so cool! And they were so hyped and kept screaming whenever the commercial which promoted Korean entertainment came up. Once they saw DBSK and Super Junior on the screen, they shouted in excitement. When Ring Ding Dong by Shinee was played, everyone was singing as one, especially when the English words came up xP But they kind of played the songs on repeat. Heard Mighty Mouth’s Love Class and others.

Then there was the long wait till the concert officially started at 7.30pm! When the host and co-host came up, everyone stood up and ran to the stage. Lucky for us, we had no mats and so we could immediately get to the stage which made us even NEARER to it. That got all our hearts pounding with excitement.
The first performance was by Miso Korean Musical. I had to say I wasn’t really expecting much before it started as I was really looking forward to the performances by FT Island and BEG. But I was wrong! I really enjoyed that musical! Especially when the scene of the female dancers hitting the drums like the scene in Da Chang Jing. It was so cool. They were so uniform and everything was perfect. Even their jumps and leaps were completely synchronized. The drums performance sent many of our mouths hanging. I guess this is what it means by professional performers. And they could smile the entire show. Oh, and to add on, there wasn’t any flaw at all. They were so good that I wished that they could perform the drums again! Not forgetting the guys that performed next. If you think you can dance well, look at them. They hit drums and dance at the same time. I seriously can’t describe the dance in words. You have to see it for yourself. They control the long white sash that was attached to their hats by their necks. So in order to make it move according to the way they want, they had to move their necks in precise movements. That was how high the difficulty is.

The drums performance. The lights were too bright and I forgot to zoom in ><”

The performers with white sash on their hats
Up next was the drawing performance that sent the crowd in awe. They first started with this hilarious dance and they sprayed water on us! LOL. But it was pretty funny and when they started drawing, it was really fantastic. The way they spray the paint without hesitation already showed us how much effort they have put in when practising.

Then one of the guys started drawing a landscape with just charcoal. Every stroke made by his hands seem to work magic on the drawing. After making out the outlines, he created shadows by smudging the sides of the outlines. He drew this in less than 10 minutes. How cool is that?

In the next and last performance, he drew Napoleon and his horse. It was amazing in the sense as how did he know the exact proportions of how the horse would be? This shows that he already had the entire drawing visualized in his mind.

It still puzzles me on how they manage to suddenly get the colours out in an instant after the charcoal drawing is done. No doubt, it was an eye opening performance (: I’m sure not only me, but everyone enjoyed it!
Next up was the much awaited performance by the Jinjo crew bboys!

When they started performing, it brought the atmosphere into an even more hyped atmosphere! I especially loved the dance when they were snatching for this red cap and then they did their solos. It’s so good that when it ended, everyone wanted more of them. After that they came up again which caught us by surprise! We were so excited to see them perform again and were all hyped up all again.
Then it started with the performances by the Korean stars. First up was Park Si Nae. She demonstrated her singing capability well enough with her dynamic voice which sent flutters in our stomachs. After that came Mario who rapped and sang English songs and got the whole audience in a party mood. Everyone were sweating and grooving with the music. They sang “Kiss me through the phone” and “Umbrella”. They ended off with the song “Never Say Goodbye” which was the song that was famous due to the hit drama, My Girl. Mario was fluent in his English and manage to communicate with the crowd well.
After that, it was Lee Ji Su. I have to say I don’t really know him well and out of all the songs that he sang, I only recognize the track that was off My Girl. But most of the audience know him and everyone was swaying to his soothing ballads (:
Then was T-Max. It sent everyone real high. Everyone was bursting with energy when T-Max came on stage and performed their first song, Bang Bang Boom. Well, I don’t know them well either but somehow I knew the songs that they performed. LOL. Must have been in the soundtrack for Boys Over Flowers I guess. And Min Chul was so hyped up and was trying to get all of us to groove with the music. He then kept giving fan service by doing flying kisses and others. The crowd cheered with glee whenever he did that.

Oh. And we realised there was so many solo fancams! There were a lot going for Yoon Hwa. He’s cute so I guess there’s no surprise
And of course Kim Joon who became famous because of his role in BOF.
They also performed Paradise which made us even more high. Everyone was singing along! We knew the lyrics by heart already! xD
After all 4 songs, they went off stage and everyone was shouting “Encore” in unison and they came back up to perform another song.
Then the hosts came up and started to introduce the next group coming up. The audience was already at the highest point where it doesn’t matter if its FT Island or BEG for we are all fans of them. When they finally announced it was FT Island, yellow banners, flags and boards suddenly shot out of nowhere and everyone became temporarily deaf. One reason? Everyone was shouting and cheering which included me of course! All the girls went crazy which of course didn’t leave the boys out. Even the guys were cheering! This shows how much fans FT Island has!

The first song they sang was One Word. I had to say the band members looked sleepy, especially HongKi. But when the next song Barae came up, everyone was so high that the band members got into the mood. This is seriously the song of the night because everyone could sing it! It’s like a national anthem or something because everyone can sing it and was singing it OUT LOUD like crazy. And I seriously can’t believe I’m watching it live!
WHOOOOO!
The next song was Bing Bing Bing! Like expected, everyone knew the song as well. LOL. Kind of amazing but yeah! Then was Cool vs Pretty. The encore song was Love Sick
Can’t believe they sang that but that was their debut song and it was the first song that made me know them! So yeah!!!
Ps. I can’t find any videos with good quality so when I find them I’ll post them here! (:
In addition, when the fireworks appeared, there was this shocked look plastered on HongKi. It was so cute. And he coughed during the song which made him give a embarrassed smile but recovered immediately and was able to give us a wonderful performance in the end xD Sadly MinHwan can’t really be seen from where we were since he was at the back playing drums dutifully. Oh and Jong Hoon was so high. LOL. When it was near the finale, he jumped up on the stage which surprised us. The height to which he jumped was really high!
Also, most of the artists had difficulty in communicating with us but Liyi didn’t help them translate ><” HongKi was the only one who requested for the emcee’s help. It was pretty hilarious because suddenly Liyi’s voice sounded through the speakers. HongKi seemed happy with that and started to utter more sentences that I didn’t understand. LOL. But could after Liyi translated them again. FT Island is having a fan meeting in January but the tickets ain’t going cheap ): Wondering if I should go~ Blehs
After FT Island, then came BROWN EYED GIRLS. I was losing energy already from all the cheering for FT Island. But somehow or another, the crowd still managed to cheer. I guess the host was right in saying that Singapore Fans has lots of stamina. Their performance kicked off with Sign as expected from all of us! And it wasn’t a letdown but the best performance ever! It’s so cool to watch them up close with those dance moves that we know! AHHH! <33 BEG!

They also performed You Raise Me Up. Gosh. Their English is good! Especially Miryo! The pronunciation was so good that it was kind of difficult to accept that she’s a Korean!
Their singing was superb especially at the high notes! Jea’s vocal skills really rock. She’s super cool! Ga-In was super hot in Abracadabra, especially in her solo dance! (:
Oh and they also performed L.O.V.E I thought most people would not know that but everyone did, which made me super happy. LOL. And also their encore performance was How.
What was funny during the show was that everyone was cheering when Narsha and Ga-In was performing. When it was Miryo and Jea, the cheers became silent. But still, we love BEG as a whole okay! BEG hwaiting!
D
After everything ended, everyone was still super high. Then I could feel the aches in my feet and of course the after effects! Temporary deafness in the left ear -.- Even now when I’m typing this, I can feel it. We were also suffering from a parched and dry throat after so much cheering for our idols
While walking out, we heard lots of screams so we quickly ran to where the crowd was. I managed to touch Brown Eyed Girls’ van! I was separated by Ga-In by only a piece of metal sheet! LOL. Sad that FT Island’s van was the first to leave ): I guess that was expected since their van most probably would gather the most number of “stalkers”!
Overall the performance rocked and if there’s another one next year, I’ll be sure to catch it! And yeah, its time I start investing in a camera! ><”
Ps. Pictures and videos would be updated again soon
<3 FT Island and BEG!
