Full-stop

23 Jun

There’s pretty much changes in my life recently. The rejection letters for my appeals have came and I guess it is confirmed that I’m enrolling into SIM-RMIT Business management on first July. It might actually be a blessing in disguise. That, I’m still not sure yet but would know once the first semester begins.

Submitted my resignation letter on Sunday night. After explaining to Arao-san and Florence about my situations, they were convinced to let me off (thats a harsh word but I couldn’t think of any better ones). Suddenly I feel that I would miss Uniqlo. From a full-timer, to a part-timer and now, my journey in Uniqlo has ended. Its actually quite hilarious when I recalled the first day I reported for work. That time, I was a newbie. Total newbie, not knowing what to expect from this job. After one month, I was pretty much assured that the job wasn’t what I wanted and kept saying that I would quit. But things dragged on, I made new friends, grew used to the tasks and heavy load. In the end, I stayed on till now. This Friday would be my last day already.

My fifth and last month. Pretty long compared to some previous staffs. Gona work from 8am to 9pm on Friday because I needed to meet the requirement of 20 hours which means that I can’t accompany my mum for her checkup results in the afternoon. I hope all goes well. Sigh. I’m actually pretty worried because of the doctor’s tone the other time after the first scanning ):

Anyways, I didn’t really tell anyone that this Friday would be my last day. Don’t think it really matters. Might sound a little offensive in some sense but life is like this isn’t it? 5 months seem long but the people I’ve encountered and made friends with in this part of my life would most probably be passerbys in my life, considering the average lifespan of 80 years (I wouldn’t want to live that long though). Still, good luck to them. Hope they get what they want in their future and stuff.

Besides work, my life is going to start a new chapter. University life I hope would be a fruitful one despite not being able to get into a local university. There’s an orientation camp on Saturday and Sunday. Two days one night. Not sure what to expect but I’m sure those basic elements such as night walks would not be missing. Well, it seems like I’m actually looking forward to the start of school.

My vacation, days of being idle are approaching and end. However, thats when a new journey begins. Looking forward to it.

Turbulence

21 Jun

Rooted, I couldn’t fly. Stumped by problems. People and their comments, hovering over me. Determined, I worked hard. Day and night, in and out, just to fulfill my dreams. Finally, efforts paid off. I soared. Head in the clouds; conceited, I have become. Grey clouds in a distance warned of an incoming disaster. Words got in but got out too fast. Procrastination took over my head. Butterflies fluttered, I could not stay strong. Overwhelmed by chaos, what have I done?

Orange!

18 Jun

I have this super urge to dye my hair ORANGE! Let this be my last “want” before school starts on July 1.

HYUNA is LOVE.

Yuki Yaki

12 Jun

Friday night, we finally executed our Yuki Yaki trip. It was supposed to go Timbre which was called off due to financial issues. I even suggested taking Mac Takeaway and eat outside the restuarant. Absurd! But Joyce told me that her friends did that before. Seems like I’m not the only one who would come up with such ideas. Well, beggars can’t be choosers!

As usual, we were LATE! However, I wasn’t the latest! In fact, my brother and I were the earliest. Hence we decided to drop by Orchard Ion for a short shopping trip before we meet Joyce at Cityhall interchange. When I reached, Joyce texted me to say that she got the bag and was ultra disappointed with it. In case you do not understand, the bag is actually a “branded” bag from Heeren which we had to pay an astonishing amount for. When I saw that red thing, I was disappointed as well! I always thought that it was a branded tote bag or something. It totally CLASHED with our “make Jolene demure” plan. A backpack with demure clothes. Totally mismatching! But Joyce said that it was something she really wanted so I guess we had to make do with it. I mean, its her birthday present. So as long as she likes it right? (:
On the way to Suntec, we were attracted by the huge flier pasted outside MPH. “MOVING OUT SALES. 90% REDUCTION”. The books were selling at an unbelieveable price! Usually its at least 25 bucks and now they are slashed to 6 bucks. Can you believe it? One book for only FOUR BOOKS. Thats insane! We got stuck in there for like half an hour before dragging ourselves out of store. My brother and I managed to buy 4 books at only 20 bucks! :D Super happy! I could totally understand how our mums feel happy when they bring coupons to the Supermarket just to save that few cents except mine is tens of dollars.

When we were reaching the PC show, people who were leaving our destination were carrying huge boxes and bags. Brands like Epson and Fujitsu were all over the place. I was wondering if we would be part of the crowd too, an hour later or something. It seems that I thought too much. The number of people there totally ruined our shopping moods. There were too many! It was super squeezy which made air really heavy. It was also warm and we could hear promoters with their glib tongues trying to outpass their competitor’s deals by adding more flaunt to their explanations. Those accumlated and ended in noise pollution, at least to my ears. In the end, we left empty handed but mission accomplished. Seems like Apple Online Store is still selling their MacBook Pro at a better deal compared to the PC show. A free IPod touch. Thats way better!

After that, we met up with Jiaying at Yuki Yaki in Marina Square. Once she saw us, her face brighted up and was explaining to us in a high pitched tone about how she prepared herself for this trip wearing an elastic skirt. It was my first time inside. Normally, I would just walk pass it and look at the people inside enjoying their buffets. Now, its finally my turn! Had to say that there wasn’t that much of a variety of food but the marinated chicken meat was awesome! I love the BBQ one which was heavily recommended by Joyce and Jiaying.

Our hotplate is full of it! All taken by me :P
I was shocked that we can request to change the aluminium foil covering the hot plate. When the waitress came, she used no gloves but only her hands. We were so amazed and thought that she definitely mastered the iron hand skill. Jiaying then poured in the butter and my brother instructed her to split it into four parts so that it can be spread out evenly. Jiaying got all excited and exclaimed that she knows that from Cooking Mama and started to spread it around. I then got influenced as well and wanted to join in the fun. But I made a blunder of myself and made a hole in the foil ><

After that, I was banned from the hot plate but I earned a better deal. Jiaying was filling my plate with chicken meat for me :P Oh yeah. We also commenced our “fattening Joyce up” plan which I guess didn’t really succeed in the end because all of us were eating so much. But when Joyce wanted to eat rice, we encouraged her and even volunteered to help her take extra servings. I think that worked a little. More CARBOS! Muahahah!

Look! We even separated the hot plate into 2 parts. The meat half for Joyce and the other for the 3 of us. Which means we only had TOFU!

While waiting for the meat to get cooked, I got bored and started snapping pictures~

Jiaying busy texting her bf. Talking about this, Jiaying was sharing with us the Uniqlo incident. One fateful day, they decided to drop by Uniqlo Ion and find me. Apparently, her bf mixed me up with Ling Lan and then pointed someone who is around the same stature as Ling Lan and said that was me. Jiaying then cleared the misunderstand and told him I was someone else! And coincidentally, I wasn’t working on that day. How lucky.

After showing this picture to them, Jiaying wanted me to snap another one, wanting to take a thinner version of her. So the plan was to stay more back and also not to take her body. So it turned out like this

Somewhat successful in some sense!

Manage to get a shot of Joyce cleaning her teeth. She insisted that I delete it away but I decided to not let her off because she has been such a “friend” lately! I was complaining to Jiaying about how I see Joyce every week and she still has no idea whats happening to me. So disappointing ): Jiaying then bragged about how she knew on first hand about my itouch dropping in the toilet bowl incident which even her bf knows because jiaying told him. JOYCE?! She doesn’t even KNOWWWWW!

Jiaying, with a SHOCKED face.

My older brother, trying to ignore the presence of the camera and pretending to be doing something.

The chicken went back to where it came from – Jiaying

Finally, the much awaited ICE CREAM! I seriously thought that frying ice cream actually means throwing scoops of ice cream into the oil. Seems like I was deceived for years! At least know I understand ><

It was super fun but then ruined by some waitress attitude which totally sucked. Her actions kind of became our laughter after Jiaying’s numerous imitations.

Joyce and my brother were super impressed with their master piece of Peppermint chocolate which Jiaying and I both agreed look a little gross. It looked more like green tea bubble tea with pearls or something.

After Yuki Yaki, we went for a short shopping session and took the train home.

Exhausted but had much fun (:

Guo Bin’s Birthday Party

12 Jun

AGAIN, I decided to put more effort into my blog for it has been so inactive lately ): I wonder why did I ever let it deteriorate into such a state so I decided that no matter what, I would blog at least thrice in a week. Oh and by saying that it means that posts that are in depth and not only sweeping statements! Well, this post is long due!

For your information, this happened on 29th May, Saturday.

After work on Saturday, I met up with Jeannette, Jolene and Melvin at Orchard MRT. We then proceeded to.. (what mrt was it?) through the circle line. After which, we took a bus ride to Marina Bay Sands! (:

First time going day, was such a country bumpkin. I was awed by grandness of the hotel.

Then we went up after getting information about the room number. As Melvin predicted, we got the wrong tower. Lucky we didn’t knock at the wrong door. We checked again and realized its at tower 2 instead of 3. When we reached the level, we waited for other friends to come. Meanwhile, I snapped some photos!

The significance of this photo was actually to have a photo of Jolene in deep thought! I guess it kind of succeeded. What do you guys think? :D

When we stepped into the room, the first time I was super fascinated by was the WASHROOM! It was so huge and I seriously felt like having a nice long bath! The bath tub was literally calling out to me but I guess it wasn’t possible with the huge crowd. The next “sua ku” thing? I started to look through the toiletries. It almost seemed like I WAS on a holiday. I mean when you go on a trip, the first time you would look at in a washroom would be the bottles of soap and shampoo right? :P

After we came out, the guys started to lead us to the pizzas! Hungry as we were, especially Jeannette and me, we begin to take a slice. I was then demanding for Hawaiian because I see NONE! Best part? There seemed to be no pineapples on it! I thought the main part of hawaiian pizzas are the pineapples? Where did they all go! I don’t think there are so many sponges around to take it as homes under the sea right :X

While munching on the pizza, we took a walk around the room. The balcony felt good but it was so sad that there wasn’t any scenery to take pictures of. I then chose the best seat, the BED! I wanted to conquer the entire bed! So tired after a whole day at work ><

Looking at the guys play Nintendo Wii, got us the girls interested as well. We started to try to get control of the controllers which we succeeded thanks to Jolene. WII IS SUPER FUN! We played games like Tennis, which was the best multi-player game ever! Played many rounds of double and JiaJie proved that he was a superb sportsman with the much amount of winnings while the rest of us lagged behind.

Then Jeannette and I tried out Boxing. Its such a tiring game! At first it was quite fun but when time goes by, we could feel the strain on our poor arm muscles. I could especially feel the tension building up after much energy spent during work. And of course, while we are playing, there are “professional photographers” at work.

BOXING!

Jean and I mesmerized by the boxing game.

Concentration. Masters at work.

I can’t remember how I got this photo but judging from it, Jolene looked pretty upset. From the story line point of view, it looks like Melvin giving counselling services to Jo. But if you think about it logically, its more of a Melvin’s way of insulting people but still having that really professional look on his face and Jolene being upset with all the sarcasm remarks. It just shows in the face and hands. With her arms folded, maybe she’s trying to control herself from hitting Melvin. Hmm.. Maybe I’m thinking too far. LOL.

Back to the story, we got sick much later and started to play poker. After that we sang the birthday song and cut the cake! Oh, Guo Bin was trying to dress after his idol, Taeyang!

Before we left, we took another photo with the birthday boy!

When we reached the traffic junction downstairs, we met Guo Bin and his friends again. Guess they were gona chill in a pub. Walked to the MRT and took the train home.

I apologize that this post is in bits and pieces because I really can’t recall the minor details since it happened around 2 weeks ago. Tried my best to remember most of it though (:
